Building Bright Minds for Life

Early childhood education can prepare children to develop the social and emotional skills they need to succeed. Early education is beneficial for many reasons, such as:

  • Improves social skills
  • Linked to greater success in life
  • Gives parents the freedom to study and work
  • Offers screenings for Health and Behavioral issues

It is vital for parents to encourage early childhood education. One effective way to do this is by enrolling them in an educational program. At International Montessori Academy, our programs begin for children as early as 18 months.

Early Education Childhood

Toddler Program

From 18 months to 3 years old – our program offers children and families a collaborative beginning in the Montessori experience. Each toddler classroom helps to bridge the child’s transition from home to school. Children are provided with an opportunity to explore new relationships with friends and to interact with adults in a loving and nurturing environment.

Toddlers will be introduced to age-appropriate Montessori materials and encourage to make choices from a great variety of activities that support their developmental interests and needs. The toddler’s strong sense of independence is encouraged and self esteem is enhanced through social and learning experiences. Toddlers enjoy movement and music within the classroom curriculum. The outdoor play is a crucial part of the daily routine. At IMA we encourage hands on learning which allows children to learn with more understanding.

Early Childhood Education

Preschool Program

That doesn’t stop there! Early childhood education continues with IMA. Our preschool program are for children ages 3 – 6 years old.

Children in the Montessori Preschool program has the ability to absorb all aspects of the environment without effort or fatigue. In the well-prepared learning environment the child works in an atmosphere of freedom and responsibility. In the Montessori Early Childhood classroom, children work independently and in groups.  Classroom are organized by the different Montessori subject areas. The 3-6 program is based on the belief that children learn best through movement and work with their hands, and provides cognitive, social, and emotional support to help them reach their full potential.

This includes addressing their needs as they enter a new period of development characterized by:

  • Transition from concrete to abstract thinking
  • Growing interest in socialization
  • Thinking and memory that is enhanced by creativity and imagination
  • An interest in fairness, social justice, and compassion

Montessori Preschool – Curriculum Areas:

The Montessori Elementary curriculum contains the following areas of learning:

  1. Practical Life
  2. Math
  3. Language
  4. Sensorial

  6. Science and Social Studies

Teachers introduce materials to students according to their level of development and readiness in our Montessori Preschool. Students then work with the materials to make exciting discoveries – such as why, when dividing fractions, we invert and multiply. Inherent in the use of Montessori materials is the understanding of the power of discovering answers on one’s own.
