Montessori Education in Miami Florida

When my daughter was 2 years old, I began the quest of searching for an early childhood learning center and as an educator myself, I was not satisfied with any of the childcare available in my area. I soon discovered a Montessori School and the philosophy blew my mind away.  I soon recognized that the Montessori Education Method was best for my daughter.

Montessori Education has revealed children as a lover of order and of intellectual work, carried out with profound joy, capable of concentration and eager to learn for the joy of learning. Montessori does away with the necessity of coercion by means of rewards and punishments, it achieves a higher discipline.

As soon as you enter a classroom, you know that something different is afoot. Montessori classrooms are immediately recognizable. You will see children working independently and in groups with specially designed learning materials; deeply engaged in their work; and respectful of themselves and their environment.

The Montessori Method fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. What are the Montessori curriculum areas? The Montessori Curriculum offers children five key areas of study: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies.

In 2008, I became a certified AMS Montessori Teacher from MTTI and since then I have worked as an educator and director in a Montessori School.  I have a Bachelor Degree in Art and Literacy from the University Of Havana, Cuba. My dream of opening my own Montessori School and share what has become my life experience and joy with other parents and children is a goal that has just become a reality.

We are a small school, some will call us the Boutique Montessori School, where your child will have a one on one personalized education. Hundreds of studies have found that students who attend small schools outperform those in large schools on every academic measure from grades to test scores.  We are excited to meet you and ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning.

I welcome you to our school “International Montessori Academy” alongside my best friends Jocelyne Castillo, an AMS certified Montessori Teacher from SMTTI in 2010 and Dayrin Medina, as an Early Childhood educator, and together we are building a place, where students feel safe and excited to come to an enriched environment that will provide opportunity for growth and higher achievement.
